- 2019-2020 Varsity Cheer Team Tryouts -

Hello! We are so excited you have decided to try-out for the Lindbergh HS Cheer team. Official tryouts will be held April 2nd-5th. You can pick up a copy of the packet in the main office at LHS. I will also be adding the documents to the other tab if you want to print it out yourself.

PACKETS, CLEARANCE FORMS & TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS ARE DUE APRIL 1ST TO THE CHEER BOX IN THE MAIN OFFICE. IF YOU DON'T CLEAR IN TIME YOU CANNOT ATTEND TRYOUTS UNTIL YOU ARE FULLY CLEARED.

Forms that need to be turned in:

- Application Form (with parent signature)

- FIVE teacher recommendations (they should turn them into the cheer box, please follow up with your teachers to make sure they did it)

- Proof of NO fines from the bookkeeper

- Attendance record (can get this from the attendance office)

- Sports physical on an RSD physical form turned into Rowena in the Main Office at LHS.

- Summer Activities form

- IMPORTANT DATES -

Packet turn in Date: By Monday, April 1st 2019, end of school day.

Try-Outs: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday April 2nd-4th will be held in the upper-gym from 2:45-4:30pm. FINAL tryouts on April 5th will be in the upper gym as well. These are closed final tryouts, in front of judges only. They will start at 3pm and go until we are done. Please arrange transportation accordingly.

Mandatory Parent Meeting: If you make he team, there will be a MANDATORY parent meeting held the week after Spring Break on Monday April 15th, 2019 at 6:00pm in the library. Coach Samantha will be walking parents through the packet, giving more information about the program, and to answer any questions they may have.

- TRYOUT PROCESS -

Try-Out Days: Please make sure you wear something comfortable but appropriate for physical activity. Your hair should be up off your shoulders, fitted t-shirt, shorts, sports bra, tennis shoes/cheer shoes. Please do NOT come in vans, converse, etc. No jewelry or gum. At Final closed tryouts on Friday you will perform individually the dance, the two cheers/chants taught at clinics and a jump sequence to the judge's. All material will be taught at the 3 days of practice leading up to Friday.

Judge's: There will be 3-6 judges who will judge strictly on ability. These other judges will be other cheer coaches, school personnel, former cheerleaders, gymnastics/dance coaches, etc.

Results: I will notify everyone by that Sunday night if they made the team or not.

I will be posting the dance and (2) cheers/chants you will be learning, on Tuesday after the first clinic is done and will announce on Instagram that they are posted.
